A very happy Christmas and New Year

Dear Paddler

Well we have come to the end of a rather interesting year of paddling.  During the summer all the White Water paddlers complained that there was no water in the rivers – now we seem to have rather too much of it.

However, it hasn’t stopped club members getting out and about across the country exploring new areas, and we are delighted that we have a full range of trips being organised for next year.  Club trips will always be advertised on the club website and newsletter, informal trips organised as peer paddles may be organised through facebook or amongst groups of paddlers.  Club trips can be booked through the club website booking portal, and trips will usually be available a couple of months beforehand to sign up for.

We also have a list of courses to help you refine your skills or expand your horizons.  Again club courses will be advertised on the website and will be booked through the event portal.

We have also included details of courses provided by other providers in the local area.  These are not organised through the club, although some may take place at the National Watersports Centre.  Please contact the organisers directly for information about these courses.

The New-Year paddle
We know that the new-year paddle is a great favourite with many paddlers.  Due to the really unpredictable water levels this year we have decided to take the paddle to Rudyard Lake near Leek in Staffordshire on Saturday the 4th of January.

This is a great location with a great new cafe and an opportunity to explore the lake which is about 3km long.  So it doesn’t make for a very long trip but we do know that it will definitely go ahead!

Booking will open on Eventzillia shortly for the trip and to make your life easier if you need to borrow kit then you will be able to request this and provided we have space we will try and take it up on our trailer for you.  Alternatively you can collect it this Saturday from the session.

We hope that you are as excited as we are about this exciting start to the new year with a full programme of events.

We would like to thank all of our Instructors, Coaches and Leaders who organise activities on behalf of the club, all of the volunteers who give their time behind the scenes, and the trustees who work tirelessly to ensure that the club runs smoothly.

All of the trustees would like to wish all of our paddlers a very happy Christmas and a peaceful new year, and we hope that Santa brings lots of paddling goodies.

Very best wishes
Dawn Scott and all the trustees.
