As you will be aware the Government released new guidance today, and this has been followed up with new guidance from British Canoeing.
With immediate effect British Canoeing has cancelled all events until the 30th of April, including the race that the club was running this weekend.
As a result of this the club has taken the decision, along with the Chair of Notts Kayak Club, to cancel the last two pool sessions. We are also with immediate effect cancelling all Saturday morning sessions. Any evening recreational courses or sessions will be postponed along with the FSRT on the 4th of April, and the Paddlesport Instructor Course on the 25th of April. The Introduction to Rafting session is also cancelled.
We will work with those who have signed up for these courses to rearrange them for a later date, however, any members who wish to receive a refund for the course, should contact me and I will make arrangements for this.
British Canoeing are not suggesting that members stop paddling but they are suggesting that large gatherings should be avoided, and the club is supporting this position. Some very small scale coaching may continue with established coaching groups, and paddlers in these groups will be contacted by their coaches to explain the situation. However, please be aware that this position may change at very short notice.
I know that we will all be missing our normal paddling activities, but all of the trustees hope that we will be able to get back to paddling as soon as possible. It is unlikely however, that normal paddling will resume until after Easter and possibly not until the end of April.
We will of course keep you updated on and developments.

We are thinking of all of our members at this difficult time, and wish you all well.
Dawn and all of the Trustees.
