An update and reminder from HPPCC

Dear Paddler

A quick update on a few items.

Security in the Compound – due to a few issues that we have had with security of the compound the committee have taken the decision to change the lock to the main gate so if you have a key you will need to come and exchange your key for one of the new ones.

This change over should take place this weekend, and new keys will be available at the session on Saturday morning.  If you are running a Slalom session next week please contact Mark Haylett if you will not be able to collect your key in person.

Other keys may also be changed at a later date.

Changes to the access to the back channels.
From January paddlers who wish to paddle on the back channels during a club session, under the supervision of a club coach will no longer access a bib from WW control, but will instead be issued a wrist band by the club coach running the session.  This will ensure that bibs are not retained by paddlers at the end of the session, and that the club coach retains control of how many people are accessing the session.
Please therefore do not collect a bib at the start of your session, unless you are paying for the main course.

Session dates over Christmas:
There will be no Saturday morning club session on the 23rd of December, the 30th of December, or the 6th of January.  This gives our coaches a break, and allows for a coach training session.

The open access pool sessions start on the 6th of January and please remember that the price is £6 this year.  Please help us out by bringing the right money otherwise we will need a shed full of pound coins.  We are limited to 50 paddlers and coaches in the pool, and this will be managed by those taking the money.  The first few sessions are always really busy, so if you can already roll, and just want to practice then why not leave it a few weeks until the numbers thin out a bit.

The new year paddle will be announced as soon as the pub is sorted out, and will be the Loughborough Loop trip.

The club Christmas meal is on the 16th of December and I am told that there are only 26 places left.  So if you haven’t booked yet, make sure you go to the club website and put your booking in.

Details are listed below.  Remember once you have booked you need to make a BACS payment to the club account to secure your place and all payments need to have been made by November the 25th.

Remember to dress for Winter, take care to check the water levels and water quality, and enjoy your winter paddling.
