Keilder Reservoir trip

Club trip to Kielder Reservoir is planned for the weekend Fri 15th – Sun 17th June 2018. This is an opportunity to paddle on the largest man made reservoir in Northern Europe at over 250 square miles. Also one of the dark sky areas of the UK (Although not dark, very early in June unfortunately).

It is planned to arrive on the Friday, paddle Saturday all day and then an option to paddle Sunday morning before leaving. Northumbria Water has a launch fee, which they are currently revising for 2018, I will let you know what this is as soon as possible.  Paddlers need to be 2 star standard for this trip (Kielder water regs). There is a campsite at Kielder Village (details below) which is 5 minutes drive from the  launch point. The campsite caters for both Tents and caravans. Anyone who would like to attend please let me know, so I can co-ordinate numbers, but please book your own camping pitch. If the village camp site is full, there is an alternative campsite at Bellingham (camping & caravan club site) approximately 20 minutes drive away.

Kielder Campsite (Tents and Caravan pitches also some pods) is a 5 minute drive from Kielder Waterside and can be booked online, their telephone number is 01434 250291, if they are full, then there is an alternative camping and caravan club site in Bellingham Village, telephone  01434 220175. Approx. (20 minute drive) from the launch point.

Water fees as charged by Northumbrian Water are £10 per day and £20 for 3 days launching.

People could also make a longer break as Northumbria is a great place to visit.
