May HPPCC Update

Dear Paddler

The weather is turning warm again and thoughts are turning to our trips away.

The next Lakes trip is only 3 weeks away so please remember that if you want to book for this trip you need to do so now.

The Wye Weekend is our traditional family weekend away.  Based in the heart of the Wye Valley at Mordiford we book an area of the campsite and all are welcome.  However, because the club books the campsite pitches we do need you to book by the 5th of June.  This enables us to have the right number of pitches on the campsite and the right number of electric hook ups.

Campers will pay the site when they arrive.  There is a shop and restaurant with licensed bar on site and the site is beautiful and right next to the river.  Non paddling family members are very welcome and it is a great area for walking, cycling and dog walking.

We will paddle on the Saturday with two paddling options available one finishing at Symonds Yat and the other going to Monmouth.  These trips are about 12 and 17 Km respectively.  On the Sunday we do a 14 km trip from the Campsite to Hoarwithy.  Both trips benefit from some gently moving water and is a wonderful introduction to moving water.  Instruction will be available for less experienced paddlers.

On the coaching side we would like to congratulate Ian Law, Robin Randall, Graham Blakey, Kath Allen and Lorrenzo Cutts on passing their Paddlesport Instructor award.  Congratulations also to Andy Brown, Christiana Noakes and Chris Newcombe on passing their Touring Leader Award.

We will shortly be announcing dates for Core Coach Training and Sheltered Water training dates so bear with us as we arrange this.

Remember if you want to go on a trip they are now all advertised and booked through the club web portal so get your bookings in and come and have a great time with us on the water.
