HPPCC July update

Dear Paddler

Many thanks to all of the members who attended the AGM last week. All of the club business was transacted and agreed, but we are still looking for volunteers to come forward for the positions of Treasurer and Governance.

It might be that you are a parent of a paddler and could offer some time to the club to help run what is one of the largest canoe clubs in the country.

If you would like more information of what either of these posts would entail then please do speak to me or to any of the other Trustees.  We are looking at having a small group of people working on the treasury team so you wouldn’t be on your own and would have a team to help.

Next a plea for some information – some time between the 28th of July and the 4th of June the following was removed from the SUP storage area:
1 Naish SUP Paddle
2 RED SUP Paddles (Make is RED, the actual colour is black)
1 SUP Leash

The SUPs are very popular in the club at the moment and we now have a situation where we have boards but not enough paddles.  If you did borrow this equipment could you please return it as soon as possible or let a trustee know that you have it.

All equipment being borrowed must be signed out, and for club trips the equipment should ideally be booked in advance so that we know who wants what.  Bookings are run by Ian Scott the volunteers and coaching trustee, and that way if you book the kit then someone else shouldn’t just remove it from the compound.

Come and try it rafting weekends.
These have now been expanded to include club members from the age of 14 upwards, so if you are interesting in Raft racing then go to the club website and book for a great introduction to rafting and racing.

Congratulations go to our rafters who all performed really well at the recent Euro championships in Bosnia and will be continuing to compete in races both in the UK and abroad.

Remember that club sessions run right through the summer holidays apart from the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

We look forward to seeing you out on the water.
