An Easter update from the club

Dear Paddler
A very happy Easter to you all, we hope that all of our members and their families are staying safe and well during these difficult times.
I know that for most people this weekend won’t be working out as you had planned and with fine weather the restrictions are very frustrating. We’ve been cleaning and repairing boats, but it doesn’t replace going out and paddling.
I have attached a message from David Joy who is the Chief Executive Officer of British Canoeing which explains the decisions that our National Governing Body have taken recently, if you are not a member of British Canoeing please do take the time to have a read.
Some members of British Canoeing haven’t renewed their membership recently, if you have been thinking about joining or rejoining British Canoeing then now might be a really good time to join and get all of the benefits of membership. Remember that joining British Canoeing gives you insurance whenever you go paddling and gives you access to all of the canals and rivers around.
Joining our Governing Body supports the sport and supports canoeing and the promotion of paddling. Let’s show that paddlers appreciate all of the work that is being done on their behalf.
British Canoeing are also arranging online activities for paddlers to join in with and the club will be offering another online workshop next week.
Following requests this will be another session on route planning which will be practical and will look at planning a real journey.
Details will sent out early next week when we have found an appropriate platform to host the online training on.
We look forward to meeting you online next week, and hope that you have a great Easter weekend and stay safe.
Regards Dawn
