Sessions this week and our first club trip for a long time

Dear Paddler

I am really pleased to be able to let you know that Dave and Chris have organised our first Club trip post Covid.

They have chosen a venue that offers a great opportunity for an out and back trip with no portages, locks or shuttle.  Also however much it rains this week it will still take place.

The venue will be the Ashby Canal and the trip will be on Sunday the 18th of October.

To ensure that the trip is safe and in line with current Government guidance we will be not paddling as a whole club group but in small groups of no more than 6 paddlers.

Pre-booking is essential and can be done through the booking portal on the club website (although bear with us as there is an error message coming up at the moment – we are working on it).

Any type of craft is welcome, Canoe, Kayak and Stand up Paddleboard.

Club Kit can be borrowed if you need it and will need to be collected on the Saturday.  You can say if you need kit on the booking form, and you need to tell us what craft you will be paddling.

This trip is suitable for any paddler who can paddle in a straight line and has been out on to the Trent a couple of times and done a little bit of distance.

We are not specifying the distance as each group is likely to cover a different distance, depending on boat type and individual paddlers.  It is likely that the trip will take about 4 hours and we will be stopping for lunch.

If you have any questions please contact Dave Guntrip on [email protected] who will be able to help.  Numbers will be limited for safety’s sake.

Club Kit

Could all members who signed out club equipment please now return it either this Saturday or next as we need to undertake a full kit audit.

We have lost a number of paddling cags, could you please check to see that you haven’t taken one home by mistake.

Sessions for this Saturday will be up on the web shortly for booking.

We look forward to seeing you shortly.
